Dress code

Wear something that is appropriate for a wedding. Suits and dresses are both good options. We have no particular color pallate. Wear whatever makes you feel great.

Accommodation

Soria Moria Hotel have reserved a number of discounted rooms for the wedding party. Guests can book their rooms directly with the reception, either by email at resepsjon@soriamoria.no or by phone. Please do not book through online booking platforms or our website, as the rates may differ. Guests can reference the date of their stay and your the wedding party when making the reservation.

Guests coming from far away are recommended stay at Soria Moria only for the day of the wedding. If you’re staying longer for seightseeing we highly recommend getting a hotel closer to the city.

Presents

We have most of the things we need in life, so we won’t ask anyone to give us presents for our wedding. If you insist on giving on something, you can contribute to our honeymoon budget, so we can go somewhere warm.

The account number is 1228.16.5732. This is – once again – totally voluntary.

Guests traveling from far away, please don’t worry about gifts, we will not accept it. Your presence in Oslo and sharing this special day with us is already the greatest gift we could ask for.

Speeches

Our guests speak a mix of languages — some Norwegian, some English, and some Kazakh or Russian.

In general, very few Kazakhs above the age of 40 speak or understand English, and no Norwegians speak or understand Kazakh or Russian.

Roughly one-third of our guests will understand all four languages — if you’re one of them: kudos! 🎉

We kindly ask everyone planning a speech to submit it ahead of time to the toastmaster. That way, we can do our best to prepare subtitles so more people can follow along. If you can’t provide a script in advance, some of the audience might unfortunately miss parts of your speech.

Since our shared language is English, and most of our guests will understand it, we’d truly appreciate if your speech is given in English whenever possible.

Toastmaster Andreas Jacobsen can be contacted at his email: andreasjacobsen94@gmail.com

Other

We love your little ones, but our wedding will be an adults-only celebration, with a few exceptions for close family. Thank you for understanding.
